Released in 2011, Litecoin has since become one of the most well-known altcoins out there, often being referred to as the “silver to Bitcoin’s gold.”
Technically, Litecoin is very similar to Bitcoin, though it processes blocks once every 2 and a half minutes, as opposed to Bitcoin’s 10, allowing for faster transaction confirmation.
